Message from School Director

Dear Parents,

It is a pleasure to make your acquaintance. I have been teaching kindergarten ever since my own son was that age; he is a teenager now. Nothing brings me more joy than to see a child laughing happily in class,  getting a hug for no apparent reason, a child teaching me a concept as if he/she is the teacher…. There is no comparison for the pride I feel when my kids imitate me. Spending time with kids makes you think like them, no ego, no ulterior motives, even if they have a fight, it hardly lasts for more than a few minutes. Look at the world through a child’s eyes, everything is more beautiful, colourful –in other words – Life is simple, somewhere along the way, we, as adults have made it complicated.

I studied to be an accountant, came into teaching as the last resort, because I couldn’t get an accounting job in Tokyo. Today, I feel that this was God’s gift – teaching is what I was meant to do, that teaching is not my profession, it is my passion. I studied to be a Montessori teacher after I started working at a school, because I wanted to know the why and how behind all the materials and apparatus we had in the classroom. That was the beginning of what now seems like a lifelong journey towards gaining knowledge – I say gaining, not imparting knowledge, because in a Montessori house of children, everyday is a learning experience for everyone.

I look forward to meeting you, and answer any questions you might have about our school.

Sincerely,
Malar Prabhakar
